I installed this update today and, so far, have not been able to open the app since. It crashes immediately.
Have you forced quit the app (doubleclick on homebutton and wipe up the app/out of the display) or restarted your device?
Sorry to hear this is happening. Please try the following. Go into iOS Settings Scroll down until you find Equipd Bible Turn on "Clear Scripture History" Try opening the app again Let us know how you get on.
I am going to mark this as resolved, based on the fact that the suggestion above has worked for others, and there is no reply from William.
I previously tried that, and got on for about 5 minutes, then it started to do the same thing. I just tried it again and it's still not opening.
Thanks for confirming @Dugo Bum. Can we try something else? These steps are a little more fiddly, but please give it a go. On your device select the words between the quotes - "2 Tim 3:16". A black context menu should pop up after you have selected the scripture - choose "Copy". Now try and open the Equipd Bible app again See the attached screenshot showing steps 1 and 2. The theory is that the app is trying to look up a scripture in the clipboard, and whatever is currently in your clipboard could possibly be causing the crash. By putting the phrase "2 Tim 3:16" into your clipboard, then maybe the app can correct itself. There is no way to know for sure, but it is worth a try. Please let me know how you get on.
Thank you so much for responding so quickly. I'm still learning technology, please bear with me. Where on my iPad do I choose 2Tim 3:16?
From the forum post. Exactly as shown in the screenshot. Open this page on your iPad and follow the steps one at a time.
@Dugo Bum - Do you know how to select text and "Copy" it? You don't need to copy the exact phrase "2 Tim 3:16" - that was meant as an example to help you. If you know how to "Copy" text then just copy any text, from any app, and then try to open Equipd Bible.
Then I am at a loss in your case sorry. In every case reported so far (about 4 users) the 2 different solutions recommended above have worked. I have no explanation for what is happening on your device with the app, or what could be causing it. Not without trying to debug the issue on your device which would require your help and a fair bit or patience. The only other potential solution is to delete and reinstall the app, which is obviously not ideal. If you decide to do this, and you have notes etc that have not been backed up, then you can plug your device into a computer and try backing up your files via iTunes File Sharing. If you are not sure how to backup your files using iTunes File Sharing then please see this tutorial on Apple Support. Other than that I can just reassure you that this problem is not typical, and so far it is limited to your device for some reason. I hope you manage to resolve it and can continue to use the app. I appreciate your patience and apologise for any frustration caused.
